No. Importing, stitching, redacting, hashing and PDF generation all happen inside your browser. The only things our servers ever hold are your email, your login and your subscription status.

How do I print text messages for court?

Take screenshots on your phone, import them here, keep the default one-screenshot-per-page layout, fill in the label fields, and export the Court profile. You get a Letter-size portrait PDF with 0.75 inch margins, a cover page and page numbering.

What is the file hash appendix for?

Accepted Answer

A SHA-256 hash is a fingerprint of a file's exact bytes. ThreadProof computes it from the original screenshot at import and lists it in an appendix, so anyone reviewing the exhibit can confirm the original file they are given is byte-for-byte the same file.

Are redactions actually removed from the image?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Redactions are solid black rectangles drawn into the image pixels before the PDF is written. They are not overlays or PDF annotations, so they cannot be moved or peeled off. Blur and pixelation can sometimes be reversed, which is why ThreadProof only offers solid black.

Why did some screenshots not stitch together?

Accepted Answer

Stitching only works between adjacent screenshots that share an identical pixel width and genuinely overlap. If the widths differ, or the overlap region is a blank background with nothing to match on, ThreadProof paginates that pair instead and tells you why.

Where are my cases stored?

Accepted Answer

In your browser's local IndexedDB storage. Safari and iOS may clear that after about seven days without a visit, so export a case backup zip and keep it somewhere safe.

What does it cost and can I cancel?

Personal is $9 per month or $79 per year. A one-time Case Pass is $24 for 90 days. Professional is $49 per month or $439 per year.
