Timestamp

The date and time shown beside a message, displayed in the phone's time zone.

A timestamp is the date and time a messaging app shows for a message. iPhone reveals per-message times when the bubbles are dragged left; Android reveals them on tap or through a settings switch.

Timestamps display in the capturing phone's current time zone, so note the zone on the cover page if travel could make the sequence look odd. Never edit a timestamp into an image.
